MEET THE SUPERVISORS

Linda Wootton
Inland Mendocino County
Supervisor

"My name is Linda Wootton and I am the supervisor for Inland Mendocino Caregivers. My job is to assure our caregivers continue quality care, whether it is getting supplies to the workers or going to each one of our clients’ homes on a regular basis for a personal assessment that their needs are being met.

I worked at a Sonoma County winery for 15 years as a microbiologist before I decided to follow my passion for human services by going back to college. I've worked two years as a supported living specialist and two years as a case manager (both with other agencies) before coming to Mendocino Caregivers. I have an AA degree with a Certificate of Completion in Human Services from Mendocino College and am presently finishing my BA degree at Sonoma State University in the Hutchins Program.

My initial experience as a caregiver started early at nine years old, when my father was paralyzed by a stroke; my mother and I served as primary caregivers. This was not only a rewarding experience, but also an invaluable one later, when I needed to find a care provider for my mother.

Unfortunately, there was not an organization such as Mendocino Caregivers for me to utilize, hence I was left with the worry of whom I could trust to care for her. Mendocino Caregivers relieves those worries for you - by carefully screening each employee, routine home visits from a supervisor with your loved one and thorough documentation.

My beliefs are that each one of our clients comes to us with unique stories and experiences and we at Mendocino Caregivers want to continue to enhance their lives with respectful dignity and quality care."

Shelly McConnell
Coastal Mendocino County
Supervisor

"My name is Shelly McConnell. I have lived in Fort Bragg since 2007 and have finally found my home with Mendocino Caregivers. I have many years of experience in hotel management and medical office administration. I've truly enjoyed both careers because I can interact with people on a regular basis.

My roots are in Chicago where I started in the medical field working as a licensed optician and contact lens specialist. When my husband and I first moved to California, we lived in Carmel for 13 years and I worked for Doris Day as the general manager of her hotel, The Cypress Inn. I also managed The Tradewinds Carmel, another beautiful boutique inn. From there we went back to Chicago for five years and back to optometry, then to Houston where I administered offices for internal medicine, endocrinology and podiatry groups.

The Mendocino coast is unique and offers incredible beauty as well as many challenges. We have the perfect setting and the perfect team to reach out to our community and take on all those challenges. I have been given the opportunity of working alongside people whose dedication and compassion for helping others is the most important facet of their jobs. I know I will learn a great deal being a part of Mendocino Caregivers and I hope to impart some of what I've learned along the way as well.

I look forward to meeting you."

Cristina Flores
Coastal Mendocino County
Assistant Supervisor

"My name is Cristina Flores. I am an administrative assistant for Pacific Medical Resources and serve as the Assistant Supervisor for the Coast office of Mendocino Caregivers.

I moved to Fort Bragg two years ago from Los Angeles where I worked as a Medical Assistant at St. Paul Medical Center and with Axminster Medical Group. I've also worked as both a medical secretary and as a medical biller for a gastroenterology group in Santa Monica. I've also worked as a realtor's assistant and most recently as a licensed insurance agent with Farmers Insurance in Fort Bragg.

I am thrilled to be a part of Mendocino Caregivers and look forward to making a meaningful contribution to our company as we work as a team to make life better for our clients.

I look forward to talking with you."
